“My Expectant
Killer” offers a haunting like aura, somewhat akin to the British 60’s
era “The Zombies” In the tune
“Anyone”, Elope permeate an introspective & layed back fluid flow, with
a retro-era plushness via Vox subtleties & Hammond Organ stops In “Bad Fog
Of Loneliness” , Elope echo an enigmatic & melodic direction with a
dash of slide Electric Guitar to boot “Oh Patchoul”
strikes a pseudo-psychedelic ode that catches & retains the listeners
senses It’s not that
Elope don't have the other side of the coin from an energy & post-grunge
perspective, to rock along with the rest of the tainted crowd ; It just
seems to us that the more reflective & mid-tempo numbers appeal to our
ears, more so that some of the other Rock based/Harder edged styles
that Elope produce But, what
do we know anyway… The Acoustic
tinged atmosphere of “Le de’mence”, recalls a Beatles era-"White
Album" journey of sound “Out Of The
Blue” reflects elements of "Bad Finger" meets a dash of "10cc"
; Whereas, in the tune “Going Home”, one gains a touch of "Split
Ends" meet "Squeeze", on the breakfast table of "The
Jellyfish" Cross counter-plays
between Vox & chromatic maj-7ths & suspended-2nds are a nice touch.
The end product of Elope upon the senses of the listener will vary,
from time to time, depending on ones angle of mood Always a journey
of sonic quality & introspective lyrics, the perpetual sound that the
band emotes, are a delight that develops upon each listening of Elope
