“Rumors” is a
great song in its Vocal Prowess & subtle Orchestrated atmosphere. One
may give a tip of the hat to England’s Greg Lake-[ELP] , coupled with
a dash of Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour From its opening
introduction of Sitars melding in to join some Electric Guitars, “House
Of Love”, highlights the diversity within the band. A Rock solid beat,
tangents into a spiraling lyric, augmented with a masterful vocal. What
more can one ask for… Well, try “When
I Die” with its somber yet ethereal tone ; A dollop of U2 married to a
touch of Oasis ; Segue to the hook & a wall of crunching Electric Guitars
power their way onwards. As the tension from the astute production, slides
into an area somewhat like the American band Foo Fighters. But instead
of a constant bashing of distorted Guitar & screaming vocals, Hinkel simply
pull this cut off, in a sublime manner, with added finesse A dash of Flute
begins with “All It Takes” & effortlessly cruises onwards to a rather
majestic ambiance. A tip of the hat to Mr. Lennon, in fact “Shine” is a
song that one must listen to. It has a deftly outpouring of atmosphere,
that lead us to The B word. Not to be brandished lightly ; [Magical Mystery
Tour]-era Beatles That’s right.
You heard it from us & it’s no hyperbole. Many bands can make the claim,
but few master the auditory reality of it to any extent In “You Can’t
Fall Down” , an almost roots-new-country emits with an Acoustic Guitar
introduction. However, we’re not insinuating the Americans, by a long
shot. More so a dollop of Britain's Coldplay perhaps One thing is
certain however. Hinkel have an originality & panache all of their own.
Their charismatic music has an ability to draw in the listener, like a
moth to the flame Hinkel are quite
simply, one of the best bands we have heard of in quite some time, to
say the least. The band stands on a plateau of robust & vibrant musical
artistry, composition & suave. Have a listen & see & hear for yourself
