Gina Cutillo's muse
stresses to empahsize the positive aspects that can occur when we open
ourselves up to the possibilities of love & loyalty as well as their trappings.
Her altruistic leanings & perseverance stand in a glowing ember of emotion
& heart felt passion in her music "Feel The Same" with
its earthy sensuality sways in an intimacy that is endearing in its intent
& purpose. Which is what on one level , Gina Cutillo is all about "The Sky Opened Up"
is out of the gate with an effervescent energy that is affecting & positive
in its message. An inventive time signature compliments the arrangement.
The bridge is a nice departure from the main body of the tune ; Whereas
a song like"Kind" shifts into a reflective mode lyrically , amidst a more
straight forward rock tinged hue "You To Hold" is a
nice mid tempo piece of pop/rock with a dollop of double harmony in its
chorus ; Musically segue to "Still Believe" & what you have is a sense
of urgency that careens into an otherworldy muse & a unique intensity
that fans a flame from a flickering candle "Fade To Love" expresses
a poetic tale of hearts entwined around Gina's Telecaster rhythm guitar
playing ; & in"Set Yourself free" the song strikes one from the beginning
with an atmosphere & melancholy that is beguiling. Gina's work has an
inspiration & anthemic quality to it's shadow of renewal Changing paces , we
find "Another Way" . Its balsy bit of compressed energy & blues is relentless
in it's conviction. Like "I , I , I ," it is the type of song that takes
a stand & will not flinch In "Pieces Of You"
, one finds a freedom to progress along a guitar driven path that leads
to higher ground & emotional manifestation. There is no need to feel ashamed
Gina Cutillo faithfully
follows her own inclinations without fear into a rock n roll book of time
& tribulation. Gina hones her craft as she flys into the eye of her musical
hurricane. Sometimes in the middle of the fury , Gina finds a contemplative
peace that fuels our impulse to continue onwards in life & love with it's
all of its intrinsic emotional challenges & eventual triumphs |
