“Nara” has an
epic sounding appeal to it. Strong percussion melded with synthesis, Wind
Flute & marvelous Bowed Strings plus Acoustic Guitar. These gentleman
have an uncanny knowledge & gift for melodic content & audio-structure
The cut “Tikal”,
strikes an uptempo rhythm, coupled with dissonant chord progressions &
enthralling Cello based Strings. A relentless driving ambiance, with a
touch of timbale to boot “Ebla”, takes
a striking Vox opera-like underpinning. A mid-tempo base of drum enhancement,
sharpens the proceedings. Somber in its minor chord configurations &
highly emphasized with multi-layered Vocals. A stained glass image-atmosphere
“Harappa” speaks
out to a trembling heart ; Full of Choir like Vox & a dollop of Violins,
add to the enhancement “Lepcis Magna”sounds
initially like a leopard on the prowl, building the track percussively
; Following in the tradition of E.S. Posthumus ; An engaging cinematic
quality, with adept synthesis counterpoint “Antissa”, opens
with a wondrous female Vox. A touch of digital reverb & delay add to the
mood. Reverse gated percussion coupled with Flute textures & waves of
warm Strings plus a breathy choir, vocalizing in the background setting
“Cuzco”introduces
an enthralling bowed String presence via Violins ; An anthem like quality
courses through the track with a dash of monophonic synthesis What does all of that
mean ? These guys offer some heavy stuff, so be prepared... “Extremoz”is
breathtaking in its adroit utilization of Strings & Acoustic Guitar motifs
; Whereas in “Isfahan”, a somber vibration graces the proceedings It is impossible
to listen to brothers Helmut and Franz Vonlichten, without envisioning
a film soundtrack ; Expanding upon the horizon of timeless audio-art A nuance of eastern/western
European roots, drops out of the waterfall & gleams like a prism set to
